Friday Night Lab

"Where no idea is a bad idea!"

About FNL

Friday Night Lab, or FNL for short, is an open maker space offered weekly on Friday evenings at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California. This cross disciplinary effort is designed to complement and enhance the current Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) programs provided here at COS.

The lab opens @ 5:30 p.m., located in the John Muir Building in Room 208, and usually lasts until about 10:00 p.m.. Please check the calendar to view our scheduled meetings.

Note: Parking permits are not required after 5:00 pm on Fridays.

Collaboration

FNL provides a safe environment that enables students to develop the creative and soft skills required to work in a real-world collaborative setting.

Understanding Team Effectiveness

Outreach

In general, Friday Night Lab takes a coordinated approach to exposing participants to real-world skills not typically addressed in the academic environment. FNL facilitates presentations, events, and collaborative activities. A centralized hub with a diverse set of tech interests and meetups drives engagement in tech.

Bell Ringers

Friday Night Lab has a 7 year tradition of ringing the bell for significant steps toward project completion, including completing a project or showcasing it at an event. This tradition gives students a goal to work towards and recognition for their hard work.
